This was one of the first errors in baseball bobblehead SGA history, as the original was manufactured with too-dark skin. “It didn’t look like Brian Roberts. The coloring was bad,” Orioles spokesman Bill Stetka said. Fans were given vouchers to pick up a corrected version. The bobblehead is park of a a set, and joins with a Melvin Mora bobblehead which was given away Aug. 24. 2006. Together, they’re doing their hand-slapping celebration that after an O’s win. Stetka said the Orioles were being careful to prevent any of the botched bobbleheads from being acquired by memorabilia collectors. “I’ve seen both of the prototypes,” Stetka said. “The first one with Brian Roberts was just too light, and I think they just probably went a little bit overboard.” Pictured at top is the corrected version with Mora, and below, the ‘dark’ version with the corrected one.
