Concepción was signed as an amateur free agent by Cincinnati on Sept. 12, 1967. The Venezuelan debuted with the Reds as the team’s starting shortstop on Opening Day 1970. This was available at the Reds Hall of Fame Museum, with 2011’s bobblehead theme being The Big Red Machine, the team that dominated the National League from 1970 to 1979
